How these numbers are built
What is counted. Spring turkey harvest by county, counted as mandatory game-check counts (each harvested bird is checked in). Series 2008 to 2026 (19 seasons).
Rank method. Competition ranking: tied counties share the lowest rank and the next rank is skipped (1,1,3).
5-season average. The mean of 2022 to 2026, shown only for counties with a value in all five seasons.
Share of state total. A county's count divided by the sum of all Tennessee county counts in 2026.
Per 100 sq mi. The harvest count divided by Census land area, times 100.
Trend. The latest 3 seasons compared with the 3 seasons ending 10 seasons earlier, or with the first 3 seasons when the series has fewer than 13 seasons. Each county page gives both windows.
What it does not show. Harvest counts are not hunter success rates and not a measure of how many turkeys live in each county.
Data note. Counts include the small number of bearded hens in the spring harvest.
Seasons, bag limits and legal methods change. Check Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency for the current turkey regulations before you hunt.
