How these numbers are built

What is counted. Spring turkey harvest by county, counted as hunter-reported harvest. Series 2016 to 2026 (11 seasons).

Rank method. Competition ranking: tied counties share the lowest rank and the next rank is skipped (1,1,3).

5-season average. The mean of 2022 to 2026, shown only for counties with a value in all five seasons.

Share of state total. A county's count divided by the sum of all Georgia county counts in 2026.

Per 100 sq mi. The harvest count divided by Census land area, times 100.

Trend. The latest 3 seasons compared with the 3 seasons ending 10 seasons earlier, or with the first 3 seasons when the series has fewer than 13 seasons. Each county page gives both windows.

What it does not show. Harvest counts are not hunter success rates and not a measure of how many turkeys live in each county.

Data note. Gwinnett, Clayton and DeKalb counties have no reported figure in some seasons. A missing season is not a zero.

Data note. Birds reported without a county count toward the state total only.

Seasons, bag limits and legal methods change. Check Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division for the current turkey regulations before you hunt.
